Janhvi Kapoor was the original choice for playing the Joker in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight? Before you start wondering, here’s the catch: Janhvi’s posted a cute picture from her childhood to make the claim.

The ‘Joker’ is easily one of most popular (may be, feared) supervillains of the DC Comics’ Batman series. While many actors have essayed the character onscreen, actor Heath Ledger’s rendition in Christopher Nolan’s 2008 superhero film The Dark Knight is now the stuff of legend. However, we have been informed that the late Australian actor wasn’t Nolan’s first choice. Actor Janhvi Kapoor was.

Sridevi’s pretty daughter posted an Instagram story, putting up a picture of herself as a child in which she can be seen having a red nose, lips and blush on her cheek as she smiles at the camera. Sharing it, she wrote: “Lesser known fact: I was Nolan’s first choice for The Joker, had to decline for Dhadak!”

Janhvi Kapoor posted this picture to prove her claim.

Janhvi will soon make her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Dhadak, where is paired with actor Ishan Khatter, who too is making his Bollywood debut with the film. Dhadak, directed by Shashank Khaitan is the official remake of hit Marathi film, Sairat. The film is set to hit the screens on July 20. The film’s first trailer will be out on June 11.
