Katrina Kaif hasn’t had many releases in the past year — her latest, Dhoom:3 hit theatres more than a year after Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012). But later this year, Katrina might have two of her movies releasing on the same day, October 2.

While Bang Bang starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead has already been finalised for a Gandhi Jayanti release, we have learned that producer Sajid Nadiadwala has also chosen the same date to come out with the Kabir Khan-directed Phantom, starring Saif Ali Khan.

"Although both the films have Katrina in contrasting roles, it will be the first time in her generation of actresses that anyone will have two releases on the same day. If they both do hit theatres on the same day, they will eat into each other’s business," says a trade insider.

The shooting of Siddharth Anand’s film has been on hold due to Hrithik’s ill health. "Now, the film’s shooting is expected to start again in another 10-15 days’ time. In fact, Hrithik is very keen to start it again. He has given dates in bulk to finish off the shoot in a start-to-finish schedule," adds the insider.

"But the makers might not be able to finish the movie on time since they have to wrap up nearly the entire film, including big action sequences, in that much time."
