Salman Khan plans to launch a new star today, shares throwback picture with a kid

Even as the industry gears up for the in-family box office clash between Sonam Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor on June 1, Salman Khan has announced that he will ‘launch’ a new star on Thursday, May 31. Will it be someone from his family r extended friends’ circle?

Salman Khan shared an old picture and announced that a new star will be launched on Thursday.

While Sonam is awaiting the release of Veere Di Wedding starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhaskar, Harshvardhan is looking forward to his second Bollywood film, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero.

Salman tweeted late Wednesday, “Being Launched Tomorrow ... KAL dekhte hai yeh ladka AAJ kaise dikhta hai...”

Salman has often provided his support and guidance to fresh faces in the industry. From Hrithik Roshan to Arjun Kapoor, Sooraj Pancholi and Pulkit Samrat, Salman has been there for all of them.

Talking about Salman’s support for him, Sooraj had said, “The reason I love him (Salman) so much is because if it hadn’t been for him or his support, I would still be struggling. I wouldn’t have been able to become an actor because this industry throws you away during such times. He hasn’t done that and has kept me close to his heart and I love him for that.”

“He (Salman) is my mentor. If he likes someone he goes out of his way to support that person. He has a heart of gold and I am blessed to have his support,” Pulkit had said.

Refussing to be acknowledged as a mentor or godfather to many Bollywood star, Salman had said, “Somebody gave me a break so I am doing the same. It’s also because my upbringing has been very correct. There’s no insecurity or jealousy. I like people to be successful and have a great future ahead. If you are doing well, your family is doing well. Every day that I don’t work I feel guilty.”

On the work front, Salman is ready with his Eid release for the year - Race 3. He joins the Race franchise for the first time and will be accompanied by Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Anil Kapoor. Salman even turned a lyricist for the movie. Directed by Remo D’Souza, the film will release on June 15.
