Secret Superstar box office prediction: Aamir Khan film to earn Rs 7-8cr on Diwali, see 100% jump on Friday

Trade experts believe Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar will make an opening collection of Rs 7-8 crore on Diwali. It is expected to see a massive jump at the box office on Friday.

Aamir Khan has screened Secret Superstar for a select few in the industry and Bollywood celebs have already declared it the “best film of the year”. Directed by debutante Advait Chauhan, the film - featuring Aamir’s Dangal co-star Zaira Wasim in the lead role - will release on Diwali.

Secret Superstar is releasing across 1200-1300 screens across the country.

Trade experts believe the film will make an opening collection of Rs 7-8 crore. “Diwali is never great for Bollywood films. Unlike Eid, people are usually busy with rituals and pooja and going to the movies is not really the first preference. But this is a big film so I think Secret Superstar should collect Rs 7-8 crore on the opening day,” distributor Akshaye Rathi told Hindustan Times.

Rathi added that the collections are likely to see a 100 per cent growth on Friday. People would be done with their festivities, giving them the opportunity to watch films.
