Shabana Azmi shares throwback pic full of Bollywood stars. How many can you identify?

Shabana Azmi, who often shared sepia toned photos from the years gone by, has shared a picture from the music launch of 1984 film Duniya. The picture has a galaxy of yesteryears’ stars including Dilip Kumar, Pran, Amrish Puri, RD Burman, Rishi Kapoor among others.

Shabana Azmi often posts pictures and videos from the Bollywood era gone by. However, a recent picture she posted on Twitter has a number of Bollywood veterans, all fitted into a single frame. The picture is from the music launch of the 1984 film, Duniya, produced by Yash Johar, father of filmmaker-producer Karan Johar.

Sharing the picture Shabana wrote: “So many greats in one frame !”

The film was directed by Ramesh Talwar, popular for his Rishi Kapoor, Rekha and Rakhi starrer Baseraa (1981). Javed wrote the film’s screenplay and dialogues.

Dinesh Raheja, a Bollywood insider and the founder of The Dinesh Raheja Workshop, commented how he too had attended the location shoot of the film and Yash and Hiroo (Karan’s mother) were amazing hosts.

“Duniya of stars. I had attended the location shooting of this film in Cochin. Dilip Kumar and Rishi played cricket and Javed and I played antakshari on a cruise. Very few producers can match Yash Johar and Hiroo Johar as hosts.”

Dinesh Raheja spoke of the hospitality of Yash and Hiroo Johar (the producers of the film) in reply.

Among some of the pictures shared by Shabana include a picture of hers from a school trip in Kashmir, some tender moments, shared with her father, late Kaifi Azmi.
