After Poster Boys, Shreyas Talpade says he’d like to direct a film on the underdogs

Golmaal Again actor Shreyas Talpade, who recently turned director with Poster Boys, is looking at different scripts and will soon start work on his second directorial venture.

Actor Shreyas Talpade, who made his directorial debut with the film Poster Boys, has already made ideas for his second directorial venture. The actor says he would like to explore a story on the life of an underdog, something similar to his Bollywood acting debut, Iqbal (2005).

“I started my career with such a story that it has stayed with me. I’m deeply inspired by it. The character was inspiring to me as an actor too. So, I want to make a film on similar lines,” says Talpade.

There are a couple of stories that the actor says he is working on at the moment, but hasn’t penned a script yet.

A great fan of the Hrishikesh Mukherjee genre of films, Talpade says he would want to bring that similar essence in the movies he directs in future.

“I am really inspired by his [Hrishikesh Mukherjee] kind of filmmaking, humour and storytelling. I don’t know if my next project will be a drama or an issue-based film. I will decide on the basis of what is most interesting and my state of mind,” explains the actor, who will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again that released on October 19, 2017.

Though the film got an average response at the box office, Talpade says, “The response from the audience has been positive and most people were pleasantly surprised by the film. A lot of people didn’t expect me to turn director. So I think it is a good space to be in.”
