With a week to go before the film’s release, the makers of Welcome To New York released a new song on Friday evening, Meher Hai Rab Di.
Composed by Meet Bros, the song has been written by Kumaar. Mika Singh and Khushboo Grewal have sung the peppy number. Meher Hai Rab Di features Diljit Dosanjh and Sonakshi Sinha grooving to the peppy number and and Diljit flaunts some of his ‘Gabru’ moves.
Director Chakri Toleti said in a press statement, “We wanted the song to look and feel modern and contemporary and yet have the rustic bhangra style to it. I think Diljit and Sonakshi have done a fabulous job by bringing that vibe to the song and with Meet Bros terrific composition and Mika bhai’s excellent vocals, this song has risen to another level altogether.”
Welcome To New York tells the story of two youngsters in search of a better life for themselves. An unexpected trip to New York City sets them off on an adventure that changes their lives forever. The film comprises an exciting ensemble cast including Karan Johar, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rana Daggubati. Salman Khan also has a cameo in the film and his song was the first one to be released.
