She is set to finally make her big-screen debut opposite Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal. But Narmada Ahuja’s debut film has been the subject of many rumours and conjectures, which doesn’t thrill her father, Govinda. The veteran actor insists that he doesn’t “like people taking their (his children’s) names for the wrong reasons (sic)”.
“As a father, I feelinsulted that she has to go through hard times because of me, as people are saying wrong thingsabout me. I hear that ‘Govinda will come and ‘irritate’ on the sets’. (sic) Why? She is doing a film now, and I haven’t even met them (the makers),” says Govinda.
“Some people also said, ‘Govinda will come on the sets (of her daughter’s film) and who knows how he will behave? He is a short-tempered guy.’ If people have any grouse with me, my kids shouldn’t have any problem due to it,” he adds.
In fact, Govinda is ready to give it all up for his children. “If somebody asked me to pack my bags and go away somewhere else, and not do films, I’ll do it for my children,” he says.
