In his enlightening book, Wings to Freedom: Journey of a Nath Yogi, he reveals it all. The book describes his inspiring journey from childhood to the present. At the age of four, he saw a picture of Lord Shiva in deep meditation which had a profound impact on him. After he heard stories about Lord Shiva and Krishna, he would have fervid visions of them. Such intense experiences shaped his beliefs and the understanding of life.

In an interesting anecdote which might stand out to the readers, he explains how at the age of five, he was deeply disturbed when his watch stopped working. He explains, “If living things die, it’s okay, but when dead things die, I’m through with life.” This spurred him to take on the quest of overcoming death and becoming immortal.
