This is a sensual coming of age story of shy schoolgirl Adèle (Adèle Exarchopoulos) and her sexual relationship with the older, more bohemian and out artist Emma (Léa Seydoux). Unconstrained in its graphicness, this Cannes Festival favourite is said to have the longest sex scene ever between two women, shot over a period of two days.
The Birdcage
Flamboyant nightclub owner Armand (Robin Williams) and his longtime companion Albert (Nathan Lane) have to keep their transvestism in check when Armand’s son brings his girlfriend’s conservative family over for dinner. This comedy is unmissable.
Moonlight
This film won big at this year’s Academy Awards. Deeply touching and moving, it’s divided into three chapters and shows the journey of a bullied boy who becomes a teen stuck in one-sided love and grows to be a man struggling with his identity.
