Actor and Instapoet Zain Khan Durrani picks his favourite romantic poems

Here are some of his best verses to add love to your Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day, we present Zain Khan Durrani, the Prince Charming version 2.0. This 26-year-old debutant actor of Onir’s Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz, is already making girls go weak in the knees with his brooding eyes, Greek god- like looks and deep baritone. But did you know that he is also a closet poet?

It all started when he was in Class IX. “I had just fallen in love but couldn’t tell the girl. So I started pouring all my emotions in my journal in the form of poems instead!” he laughs.

According to Zain, writing poems help him crystallise his thoughts and he loves the scope of ambiguity it provides. “You can write about your innermost feelings without being too obvious.

Each reader derives a different meaning based on his own backstory making it personal for each.”

But how often does he use his couplets to woo women? “To be honest, I have never really written a poem just to impress. But I have often found my muse in them!”
