NEW DELHI: Junaid Ahmad has become the World Bank’s country director for India, after Onno Ruhl’s four-year term ended. Hailing from Bangladesh, Ahmad was chief of staff to World Bank president Jim Yong Kim before his elevation, a release said, adding that he has been with the Bank since 1991. “Junaid will bring to this key position strategic leadership along with considerable experience of working in both India and South Asia to support this transformation,” Kim said.
