Eleven years after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) first brought out the Handbook of Statistics on Indian Economy, the series is now available online and real-time to help easy access and quick research.

The handbook for the fiscal year 2008-09 contains 251 statistical tables covering national income aggregates, output, prices, money, banking, financial markets etc.

“Going forward, there should be seamless data flow and also market comments on the website,” said Deepak Mohanty, executive director, RBI.

The web version of the handbook is avaialble at http://dbie.rbi.org.in. The web version of the handbook would facilitate dynamic updating making it almost real-time.

“With this initiative, users…have access to latest data as soon as it gets updated,” Mohanty said.
