"Passengers flying with us could enjoy the taste of authentic Indian cuisine on-board, which has been selected by the chefs keeping in mind the special needs of the flyers," said Axel Hilgers, Director South Asia and India operations of Lufthansa.

"We aim to turn our flights into a truly special experience with the cooking skills of our famous star chefs and best wines specially selected by sommelier Markus Del Monego," he added.

The airlines has taken on-board two experienced chefs -- Farman Ali and Surendra Mohan -- from the luxury hotel chain 'The Leela', under its "Star Chef" programme for designing menus for its passengers.

Ali and Mohan, both master chefs at hotel's Jamavar restaurants, have selected 350 royal and regional cuisines to be served to the passengers flying with Lufthansa for the next two months.
