JSW MG Motor India has been running road tests of a new full-size SUV for a while now. Called the Majestor, the model was first shown publicly at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo. Recent sightings show the SUV being tested without any camouflage, hinting that it is close to production readiness. Once it goes on sale, the Majestor will be positioned above the Gloster in the lineup. While the launch date is still not confirmed, the manufacturer has rolled out a BYD or Block Your Date invitation for February, so there is a possibility that the Majerstor will finally enter the Indian market next month.

MG Majestor: Design

The MG Majestor is based on the Maxus D90, a large SUV sold in multiple global markets. Its design gives it a strong road presence, led by a wide front grille finished in gloss black. The front uses a split lighting layout, with slim LED daytime running lights placed higher up and the main headlamp units positioned vertically within the bumper. From the side, the SUV rides on 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, key highlights include dual exhaust outlets, connected wraparound tail lamps and chunky skid plates that add to its rugged look.

MG Majestor: Features

The interior follows an all-black theme and is likely to include features such as wireless phone charging, an electric tailgate, a premium audio system, tyre pressure monitoring, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold and Level 2 ADAS for added safety and convenience.

MG Majestor: Specifications

MG has not officially revealed the technical details of the Majestor yet. That said, it is expected to share its powertrain options with the Gloster. This could include a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine producing around 158.7 bhp and 373.5 Nm of torque, along with a more powerful twin-turbo diesel version delivering roughly 212.5 bhp and 478.5 Nm. Both engines are likely to be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers can expect options for rear wheel drive as well as a 4x4 system for off-road capability.

MG Majestor: Rivals

After launch, the Majestor will take on established premium SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, the Skoda Kodiaq and the Volkswagen Tiguan R Line.
