Three members of a family were murdered by unidentified assailants at Bandapur village on the outskirts of the town late last night. Police today said the deceased included a girl and her parents. They were identified as Sanjay, Sunita and their daughter Jyoti.

The assailants used sharp-edged weapons to commit the crime. The bodies were sent to civil hospital for post-mortem. Other details were still awaited.
