This was informed to the media by the HPSVOA president, Dr Sushil Sharma, after the association meeting concluded at Palampur in Kangra.

Sushil said the association demanded urgent steps and funding from the government for upgrading of clinical facilities and equipment in all veterinary hospitals across the state.

He said it was dire need to upgrade the potential veterinary dispensaries to veterinary hospitals so that quality veterinary services could be provided to livestock owners and the ratio of veterinary hospitals and dispensaries in the state, which is the worst in India, could be brought down to an optimum level.

The association also demanded issuing of clear cut guidelines for giving post mortem reports and health certificates in bank loan cases, streamlining work and bringing uniformity in this regard throughout the state.
