Chandigarh Police on Monday launched investigation into the mysterious death of a lawyer whose body was found in a park here late Sunday.

Chandigarh Police on Monday launched investigation into the mysterious death of a lawyer whose body was found in a park here late Sunday.

Police officials said the body of Sukhmanpreet Singh, about 36 years old and a resident of neighbouring Mohali town in Punjab, was found in a Sector 27 park.Sukhmanpreet Singh was a lawyer in Punjab and Haryana high court.

"The body had two bullet marks, one each on chest and neck. We are working on various leads," an official said.

The wounded lawyer was spotted by some passersby who informed the police. He was rushed to a government hospital where he was declared dead.

The lawyer's car was found parked about 200 metres away.
