The two-day film festival on the theme 'Black History Month' at University School of Open Learning (USOL), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh concluded here on Saturday. The second day of the festival concluded with the screening of three feature films on the theme 'Black History Month'.
The first movie 'Talk to Me' at 9.45am was a biographical film about a radio personality Petey Greene who was also a community activist in the 1960s. The second movie "42" at 12noon was a biographical sports film about baseball player Jackie Robinson who became the first African-American player.
The film was appreciated by the sports buffs from PU and various other educational institutes of Chandigarh.
The closing film of the festival was marked by screening of the historical drama and a critically-acclaimed film '12 years of Slave', directed by Steven Mc Queen.
American Embassy's information resource officer Bill Middleton interacted with the audience about the theme of the film festival.
Supriya and Nitesh Rohit from Cinedarbaar and coordinator of the film festival Jeesu Jaskanwar Singh organised the quiz and interactive session during the course of the film festival.
Archana Ojha from Kamla Nehru College and Sudhir Baweja from USOL, PU, shared the values and historical perspective of American Black History during the film festival.
