The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) have decided to extend the tenure of their outsourced employees up to September 30 in view of the ongoing power distribution system strengthening programme.
The present term of the outsourced employee expires on July 31. The discoms also plan to conduct safety seminars for them in all operation circles.
A decision in this regard in this regard was taken at a meeting chaired by discoms' chairperson and managing director Devender Singh on Saturday. The demand to extend the tenure of contractual employees had been raised in view of the shortage of supporting staff.
Meanwhile, the village and urban improvement programme of the discoms is scheduled to be completed by June 30. In view of scorching heat and sowing of paddy in various parts of the state, the priority is to run the system smoothly and safely, and provide reliable and quality power to the consumers, CMD said.
Referring to aggregated technical and commercial (AT&C) losses in the command area of the UHBVN, Singh said the losses were more than 33%. It was required to reduce the losses in a phased manner and the target for bringing down these losses to 27% had been being fixed for the current financial year.
