The ADGP’s report, received on Monday, exonerated all the officials —Ludhiana police commissioner Paramjit Singh Gill; inspector general (IG), intelligence, Bathinda, JK Jain; Bathinda zonal IG PS Umranangal, and the senior superintendents of police (SSPs) of Ferozepur ( Manminder Singh), Mansa ( Bhupinder Singh) and Bathinda (Gurpreet Singh Bhullar) — but it was not found satisfactory and the state EC asked for a fresh report from Channy within 24 hours, that is, by Tuesday evening.
