Gurpurb to mark Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib on Sept 14

The Punjab government on Monday announced that the date of Gurpurb to mark the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib had been changed from September 1 to September 14. This was done as per the dates in the newer version of the Nanakshahi calendar. The government also announced a change in the dates of gazetted holidays accordingly.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar said that the changes have been made as per modifications in the Nanakshahi calendar.
