Land acquisition halted in Rewari for 3 months; committe report awaited

No process of land acquisition would take place in Rewari till judicial commission set by state government submit its report regarding the people responsible for arsoning and violence on July 22 at Ashalpur village of this district.

No process of land acquisition would take place in Rewari till judicial commission set by state government submit its report regarding the people responsible for arsoning and violence on July 22 at Ashalpur village of this district.

A mahapanchayat was organised by Bhumi Adhigrahan Virodhi Kisan Sangrash Samiti against government decison to acquire 3000 acres of land of district to develop for HSIDC.

This was all decided in the meeting with chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and industry and commerce minister Randeep Surjewala during their meeting with members of Kishan Sangrash Samiti at Haryana Bhawan around 4pm on July 25.

Ram Kishan Mehalwal, president of Bhumi Adhigrahan Virodhi Kishan Sangrash Samiti said during a press conference "The talks regarding the land acquisiton had taken place in presence of chief minister Hooda and Randeep Surjewala in a congenial atmosphere, and process of land acquisition has been halted and police action against the persons booked for creating violence has also been deferred till judicial commission submit its report in three months".

Those who sustained injuries in the violence on Sunday, their treatment would be done free of cost at government hospitals. A delegation of 35 members of Kishan Sangrash Samiti met chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda after the violence erupted in Bawal town of this district on 22 July, when mahapanchayat decided to block Jaipur-Delhi highway, and police had to resort lathi charge to couter the mob.

Several got injured during the incident including cops.
