District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), SAS Nagar, in association with House Owner's Welfare Society organised a legal awareness-cum-free medical checkup camp at Lok Sewa Kendra, Civil Dispensary, here on Sunday.
DLSA chief judicial magistrate-cum-secretary Tarntaran Singh Bindra and Sukhwinder Singh from Patiala Hospital jointly inaugurated the camp.
Member of Parliament (MP) Prem Singh Chandumajra, who was the chief guest at the occasion, announced a grant of `1 lakh for the society.
Bindra sensitised the public about their legal rights and spread awareness about Punjab Legal Services Authority schemes and ways to avail their benefits.
A pathologist, SB Lal, performed free sugar and bone-density tests free of cost. Free medicine to the needy was given by GS Sachar and Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited.
