The court of additional district and sessions judge Gurvinder Kaur on Tuesday sentenced two people to 7-year rigorous imprisonment each for sexual exploitation of a 14-year-old girl. One of the convict is mother of the victim.
Kusum was having an illicit relationship with Surender Singh. She had left her husband 10 years ago. She was staying first in Surajpur on rent where she met Surender Singh who used to visit her house regularly. Then she shifted to Nada village about two years ago. Here also Surender used to visit Kusum.
Then in 2011, as per the victim, Surender tried to rape her. The victim complained to her mother Kusum but she told her to do whatever Surender was asking.
He then raped her and thereafter continued to visit them. Kusum used to sit outside house while Surender used to rape her.
On February 28 this year when she was raped by Surender Singh she complained to her mother that she would report the matter to the police. Then Kusum and Surender Singh threatened her if she would reveal they would kill her.
Surender Singh then left for Bihar the next day. The victim managed to escape from Nada village and met her relative who works as maid in a house in sector 7. She narrated the story and FIR was lodged on March 6 this year.
