The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) will now accept applications for release of new power connections or extension of load above 100 KW for all categories of consumers through single window industrial clearance (SWIC) portal (http://singlewindow.pspcl.com).
Earlier, the scheme was restricted to the release of new connections or extension of load for industrial consumers above 500 KW only.
SWIC was launched in February 2013 to accept applications for release of new connections and grant of NOCs for electrical layouts. As many as 150 industrial consumers have already applied for various clearances through this portal.
Director (commercial) Surinder Pall said the PSPCL recently took feedback from industrial consumers who applied for various clearances through this portal to ascertain its quality of services and possible improvisations. "Industry has given positive response to digitization of these clearances. So, we have decided to further extend this service to accept applications for release of new connections and load extensions through this portal. Necessary instructions have already been issued in this context to the officials concerned," said Pall.

The application is processed online as per designated work flows of PSPCL and pendency is automatically followed up by the SWIC portal with the official concerned through SMS to ensure time-bound clearances.
SWIC portal provides application status to the applicant through an automated SMS. "Our long-term vision is to accept all applications from all categories of consumers through this portal in a phased manner in order to provide ease, transparency and ensure time-bound clearances, said Surinder Pall.
