Randeep Singh Surjewala is AICC spokesperson

The All-India Congress Committee (AICC) on Tuesday appointed Haryana industries and commerce minister Randeep Singh Surjewala as its spokesperson. The 46-year-old legislator from Haryana's Kaithal assembly constituency was, for the past few months, handling the job of speaking on behalf of the party and defending the UPA government on television shows and in print media.

The 46-year-old legislator from Haryana's Kaithal assembly constituency was, for the past few months, handling the job of speaking on behalf of the party and defending the UPA government on television shows and in print media. The formal appointment was made on Tuesday.

On January 18, he was nominated by Congress president Sonia Gandhi as a member of the AICC's election co-ordination committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
