Ranjeet wins title in Spain

The Chandigarh Academy for Rural Tennis (CHART) trainee Ranjeet Singh defeated the reigning under-14 national champion Digvijay Pratap Singh in the final of the Ciudad Dela Raqueta to lift the title. Ranjeet won the singles title defeating Digvijay in a closely contested match 6-2, 5-7, 10-4. Ranjeet and Digvijay were part of a three-week long training trip to Spain along with Vikrant Dhaiya and Sumit Pal Singh. The group was accompanied by CLTA director coaching and development Gajendra Singh and the trip included training and participation in tournaments in Madrid, Spain. The tour was from October 19 to November 8.

During this trip the players got an opportunity to play matches with Spanish players. They played two team events where they beat the number 1 tennis club of Madrid in a Davis Cup format winning four matches.

In the category tournament there were participants from Cuba, Greece, USA, Spain and India.
The Indian players dominated tournament with all four reaching the semifinals. In the semifinals, Ranjeet defeated Sumit Pal Singh 7-6 (1), 6-1, while Digvijay Pratap Singh outclassed Vikrant Dahiya 6-4, 6-4.
