SAS Nagar: 22-year-old found dead under mysterious conditions

A 22-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kurali on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Satnam Kaur, native of Sanana village, Ropar. The victim got married to Jaspreet Singh in March this year.

A 22-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kurali on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Satnam Kaur, native of Sanana village, Ropar. The victim got married to Jaspreet Singh in March this year.

According to the information, Surinder Singh, father of the deceased, has alleged her in- laws used to harass her for dowry, adding they had come to meet her a night before the incident and when they came back, they received a call that their daughter was unwell.

When they came back, her body was lying on the bed, they claimed. After police were called, the victim's body was shifted to the civil hospital for postmortem.

Station house officer Iqbal Singh said police were investigation the matter. He added injury marks had been witnessed on her neck.

Meanwhile, her parents have levelled allegations against the in-laws for her death, while police said they were yet unsure whether it was suicide or a murder.

Police and intelligence officials are gathering details about these people for their possible involvement in June 10 incident, informed officials aware of the developments.

    Ludhiana: Group of teens booked for assaulting factory owner, son

    A group of teenagers have been booked for assaulting a factory owner and his son following an argument over a petty issue. The Sahnewal police lodged an FIR against at least eight people who are 16 to 17 years old. Ashok Kumar, 53, of Prem Nagar, Lohara said that his nephews Raunak and Roshan had bought ice cream on June 16, which they spilled after they bumped into the accused. When the children objected to it, the accused thrashed them.
