School teacher held for molesting mentally challenged girl
The police on Friday arrested a teacher of a government primary school of Chhat village on charges of molesting and sexually harassing a mentally challenged class 7 student in the school in Chhat village.

The accused was identified as Palwinder Singh, a resident of Baswan village in Banur, and was booked on the complaint of the victim's maternal uncle.
In his complaint, Majid Mohammed said his niece was mentally challenged and used to attend class 7 for disabled students in the school.
Station house officer, Zirakpur, Deepinder Singh said Palwinder had allegedly been molesting the girl for the last few days but was caught in the act when some teachers saw him and reported the matter to the school principal.
He said the principal had informed the girl's family and on the statement of her uncle, the accused had been arrested under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
