UT police on Wednesday formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe a case of sexual harassment against senior IAS officer SN Roy, the principal secretary of Haryana urban local bodies department.

UT SSP Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill said the SIT comprised SP Urvija Goel, assistant superintendent of police Dr Guriqbal Singh Sidhu and the Sector 19 station house officer (SHO).

A 33-year-old Panchkula woman on February 2 had accused Roy, 52, of sexual harassment, in a complaint marked to Haryana director general of police (DGP) YP Singal, who had further marked the complaint to the chief secretary.

The complainant had alleged that Roy, who she knew since 2008, had been sexually exploiting her for over three years after lying that he was divorced. The chief secretary had sought an explanation from Roy, who claimed that the woman had been threatening to implicate him in a false rape case in case he did not pay her Rs 10 crore.
