Special cell to look into false cases, Badal tells assembly

Reacting to allegations of false cases against Congress leaders and workers, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal today assured the state assembly that a special cell would be constituted to look into such cases.

Reacting to allegations of false cases against Congress leaders and workers, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal today assured the state assembly that a special cell would be constituted to look into such cases.

"A cell will be constituted by Home Ministry which will look into allegation of false cases," Badal assured Leader of the Opposition Sunil Jhakhar who raised the issue in the House during Zero Hour. He said the false cases, if any, would be settled within 15 to 20 days and action taken against officers concerned.

Badal also asked Leader of the Opposition to submit the list of alleged false cases against Congress leaders and workers to him.

Badal asserted, the SAD-BJP government was against the vendetta politics. "It was the Congress which started vendetta politics in the state," he alleged.

Badal pointed out that the then Congress government betwen 2002 and 2007 had filed false cases against his wife Surinder Kaur, son Sukhbir Singh Badal and several SAD MLAs
