Director of a Chandigarh-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) - Theatre Age - Zulfiqar Khan, who was on Saturday arrested for having "unnatural sex" with his students, was on Sunday sent to a day's police remand by a local court here.
He would be again produced before the court on Monday. Station house officer (SHO) of the Sector 11 police station Narendar Patial told the court that the accused used to show porn movies to children and also click their objectionable pictures. He said more people could be involved in the case. The SHO also told the court that Khan was not cooperating in the investigations.
The SHO also told the court that video recordings and pictures of children could have been sent to other persons also and the police were trying to trace the mobile phone used to record the videos. The police are also trying to find out the source of income of the NGO, he added.
Outside the court, the SHO told the media that Khan used to call children to his room at night for helping them in studies. He allegedly used to assault them sexually after offering them cold drinks laced with some intoxicant, the SHO added.
Following Khan's former partner Kanwarpal's complaint, the police arrested the accused from his office at Sector 24 on Saturday and was booked under Section 377 (having carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), besides the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). Kanwarpal also produced objectionable picture that showed Khan indulging in sex with one of his students.
Meanwhile, children from Theatre Age started shouted slogans in Khan's defence outside the court. Later, they were removed from the court premises by the police.
While coming out of the court, Khan said he was being framed. "I devoted 22 years of my life to children. Now, some people are using them against me," he said.
