People will be asked to send a catchline for the city, and an apt logo for the tourism department.

The UT officials claimed that as some pictures were being used for years now, the tourism literature of the city needed to be improved. The move is aimed at giving fresh look for the tourism literature in the city. It is pertinent to mention here that the UT does not have a catchline as of now. So the administration will apparently add one after the contest - the advertisement announcing details about the competition will be released soon. The best entries will also be awarded.

Meanwhile, the administration is also organising a photography contest, ‘Chandigarh in April’ from April 4. People can send pictures depicting the nature, heritage buildings and other visual treats, clicked in any part of the city, and the best 25 will be displayed in an exhibition. UT home secretary Anurag Aggarwal said, “The main idea behind organising these contests is to promote Chandigarh as a major tourist hub. All ideas are welcomed. In fact, on a lighter note, capturing the city in different amazing hues will be a good experience.”
