After residents of Bond Kalan village issued a 48 hours ultimatum to Haryana police, to arrest Kulbeer or face agitation, police launched heavy combing operation for his whereabouts.

Six police teams including mounted police, technical teams kept searching for him in the agriculture fields on Thursday and Friday, but Kulbeer, who was convicted in murder case in 2002 successfully remained out of bounds.

According to sources "Kulbeer has been living in agriculture fields since 2007 after he jumped parole and forced the farmers working there to arrange food for him". A villager said "He has managed to evade arrest only because he doesn't use mobile or vehicles and lives in sugarcane fields".

He added "Kulbeer belongs to this area and he is very well acquainted with sugarcane fields spread here in several acres of land and he must have hidden here only". Farmers in whose fields Kulbeer used to live claimed "He is a lean and thin fellow, and had became adept in dodging police after committing the crime in sugarcane fields".

Notably, Haryana DGP SN Vashisht have visited the spot twice in last two days and even met villagers of Bond Kalan to mollify them.
