A fabulous start, and no looking back - a theory that worked beautifully for 25-year-old Bollywood actor Richa Chadda.
Having stepped into the industry with Dibakar Banerjee's Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye, (where her character, Dolly, received critical appreciation), Richa was recently cast in Anurag Kashyap's murderous saga about the coal mining mafia of Bihar, Gangs of Wasseypur (GOW).
In the movie, she essayed the role of Nagma (Manoj Bajpai's wife), about which she says, "To play the role of a 16-year-old and a 60-year-old in the same movie is not as easy as it sounds. But I feel lucky that I got the chance to experiment with such varied roles at the beginning of my career."
The dusky damsel will next be seen in Conversation With God - a short-film series by acclaimed director Mira Nair. "Mira has co-written the series with Zoya Akhtar, and I feel immensely lucky and proud to be a part of such a venture," she adds.
The Delhi-born actor bagged the role in Nair's next, thanks to her performance in GOW, which left quite an impression on the acclaimed director. "I am really hoping that Mira's movie reaches some international film festivals," she adds.
About her upcoming controversial venture, Bharat Ratan's Tamanchey, where she would be playing the role of a petty criminal, she says, "I know there are rumors that Tamanchey is based on the Abu Salim-Monica Bedi love story, but that's absolute rubbish; I am just playing a gangster girl, nothing more." Richa has three more Bollywood projects in the pipeline, which she doesn't want to disclose.

Richa was at JW Marriott, Sector 35, Chandigarh, on Friday to inaugurate and be a part of the launch of the first edition of Grand Asian Wedding Week - a wedding shopping carnival in Punjab (Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Jalandhar). The carnival would be on at Marriott till August 26.
With an aunt living in the city, Richa says she loves returning to Chandigarh every time she gets the opportunity. "Whenever I come here, I have to take a gehri on the gehri route and walk down the Sukhna Lake."
