25-year-old man falls into 50-ft borewell in Hoshiarpur village, rescued 2 days later

A 25-year-old man, who had fallen into a 50-ft borewell in Quila Barun village of Hoshiarpur, was miraculously rescued two days later.

The youngster, identified as Ricky, had gone missing on Thursday. On Saturday, a passerby had heard his cries for help and alerted the village residents following which volunteers of an NGO, ‘Voiceless Second Innings Home’, pulled him out.

Ricky was found with multiple injuries. He revealed that he had accidentally fallen into the borewell on Thursday night.

He was rushed to the civil hospital for treatment. Despite multiple attempts, the village sarpanch was not available for comments. NGO volunteer Naveen Grover said he would take up the matter of unsafe abandoned wells with the administration.
