Police on Friday attached immovable and movable properties worth approximately ₹86 lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Kathua district, said officials.

The notorious drug peddler was identified as Mohammad Aslam of Rajbagh tehsil of Kathua district.
“The attached properties included a double-storey residential house a tractor trolley and a Mahindra pick-up vehicle,” said a police officer.
Following a detailed financial investigation, the case was submitted to Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act, 1976 SAFEMA for confirmation under the NDPS Act, which has now been duly confirmed, he added.
The accused peddler has been involved in an interstate narcotics network and is currently in judicial custody.
He has been arrested in three cases under NDPS Act.
Investigations have revealed that the accused had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through illegal drug trade activities, said the officer.
