A day after the tricity’s Covid-19 cases shot past the 20 mark after three days, with 22 people testing positive, their number came down to 17 on Sunday.

Both Chandigarh and Mohali logged a dip in their daily infections. While six people were found infected in the UT, compared to nine a day ago, the figured dropped from four to two in Mohali. On the other hand, Panchkula’s infection count remained nine, same as that onSaturday.
The tricity continued to beat the virus in terms of deaths, as no new fatality was reported for the 11th consecutive day. The only casualty since the beginning of the month was reported by Mohali on March 2. Tricity’s active caseload also decreased further from 119 to 114 over the past 24 days. As many as 57 patients are still recovering from the virus in Chandigarh, 33 in Mohali and 24 in Panchkula.
The latest cases pushed Chandigarh’s Covid tally to 91,860 of which 90,638 have been cured and 1,165 have succumbed to the virus.
Mohali’s total count of 95,655 includes 94,474 recoveries and 1,148 deaths, while in Panchkula, of the total 44,107 positive patients, 43,669 have been cured and 414 have lost the battle to the virus.
