Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Chaduni staged a protest at the mini-secretariat against neglect of Rahon Road on Tuesday. The protesters said that Rahon road has become an accident-prone area but no one was paying attention to its construction.

The protestors raised slogans against the Punjab government and sat on dharna in front of the deputy commissioner’s office.
A farmer leader Budha Singh said, “Despite successive government coming to power, the issue of Rahon road has remained neglected. The current government led by AAP has requested more time to start construction on the road but nothing concrete has been done in last ten months.”
The farmers said they submitted a letter with their demands to the administration on December 12 last year but to no avail.
Jasmail Singh vice President BKU Chaduni Ludhiana unit said, “ The Jodewal to Mattewara road is in dire need of repair, as numerous accidents resulting in loss of life have occurred on this road. Despite this, the government has not taken no steps to construct or improve the road.” The protesters have warned to block DC office with their tractors if their demands are not met.
