The mortal remains of Mohammad Arbaaz Dar, a Srinagar youth who passed away in Dubai, were repatriated to his native home on Monday following the intervention of the ministry of external affairs.
Dar, a resident of Kursoo Rajbagh, had been working with a real estate firm in Dubai.
The repatriation was facilitated by the Centre after the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) formally petitioned external affairs minister S Jaishankar to expedite the necessary legal and logistical formalities. The MEA and the Indian Embassy in the UAE coordinated with Dar’s employers to navigate the procedural requirements.
Expressing gratitude, JKSA national spokesperson Dr Zubair Reshi said that Bibuti Nath Pandey, under secretary to the external affairs minister, oversaw the case to ensure documentation was processed without delay.
