Officials said the work is being carried out in mission mode across multiple sectors simultaneously to ensure timely preparedness before the onset of rains.

The initiative aims to facilitate smooth drainage of rainwater and prevent waterlogging by clearing debris and blockages from rooftops. It is also expected to boost groundwater recharge through rainwater harvesting systems installed in more than 200 residential houses and government buildings across the city.

The engineering department has appealed to residents to actively participate in the drive by cleaning their rooftops and reporting any blockage in rainwater flow. For this purpose, a 24x7 control room has been set up to address complaints and ensure prompt grievance redressal.
