Ludhiana: UP man rapes 24-yr-old co-worker, impregnates her

A man allegedly raped his 24-year-old female co-worker on the pretext of marriage and impregnated her.

In her complaint, the woman said that she works at a private company where the accused is her co-worker. The accused befriended her and promised to marry her. He developed physical relations with her for over nine months after taking her to different hotels.

The woman alleged that she got pregnant and shared this with the accused, asking to marry her. However, the accused refused to tie the knot with her. On April 17, the accused came to her house and raped her after which she filed a complaint to the police.

Sub inspector Manpreet Kaur, who is investigating the case, said that a case under sections 376 (rape) of the IPC has been registered against the accused, who is absconding.
