Water Bombers Battle Bald Range Wildfire as Flames Race Toward British Columbia Communities

Water bombers skimmed Okanagan Lake in British Columbia to collect water and battle the fast-moving Bald Range wildfire. The blaze forced more than 20,000 people to evacuate Summerland, Peachland and surrounding communities, while British Columbia declared a state of emergency. Strong winds drove the fire rapidly toward homes and towns as aerial crews joined firefighters on the ground.
