Four young taekwondo players from Ludhiana have brought laurels to the city by winning bronze medals at the 43rd National Taekwondo Championship held at Chameli Devi Institute in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from October 2 to 4.

The four players, all competing in the junior category, included 15-year-old Chetan Nand Gupta and 14-year-olds Ekam Singh Mundi, Sourav Garg and Gauri Sharma. Their performance at the national-level event marked a significant achievement for the young players, with three of them making their national debut.
Coach Armaan Ali said the championship was the first national-level competition for Ekam Singh Mundi, Sourav Garg and Gauri Sharma. Chetan had earlier won a gold medal in the under-14 cadet category at the Third Punjab State Cadet and Junior Taekwondo Championship held in May last year and had clinched a gold medal at the Open National Championship in Chandigarh in 2024.
