Haryana assembly session likely to be three-day affair

The House will not meet on August 28 on account of the gazetted holiday of Raksha Bandhan while August 29 and 30 are scheduled holidays on account of the weekend

The upcoming monsoon session of the Haryana assembly is likely to be a three day affair. According to a tentative programme issued by the assembly secretariat, the session which begins on August 27 with obituary references, laying of papers on the table of the house and legislative business.

The Haryana Appropriation Bill pertaining to the supplementary estimates (first instalment) for 2026-27 is likely to be tabled on September 1 besides legislative and other business. (HT)

The House will not meet on August 28 on account of the gazetted holiday of Raksha Bandhan while August 29 and 30 are scheduled holidays on account of the weekend.

The assembly will reconvene on August 31 to take up the presentation, discussion and voting on the supplementary estimates (first instalment) for 2026-27. Certain legislative business will also be taken up on the day.

The Haryana Appropriation Bill pertaining to the supplementary estimates (first instalment) for 2026-27 is likely to be tabled on September 1 besides legislative and other business.

The final schedule will be decided by the business advisory committee of the state assembly which will meet on Wednesday. The BAC meeting will be chaired by assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan and will be attended by CM Nayab Saini, cabinet minister Anil Vij, Parliamentary affairs minister Mahipal Dhanda, cabinet minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda and MLA Geeta Bhukkal. Deputy Speaker Krishan Lal Middha, Savitri Jindal and INLD MLA Arjun Chautala will participate as special invitees. The committee will deliberate on the conduct of the proceedings, discussion on various issues and legislative business to be taken up during the session.
