A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy of her locality in Panipat city, police said on Sunday.

As per the police, the victim is the daughter of a migrant labourer. She is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The investigators said the incident took place on Sunday morning when the victim was playing on the roof of her house. The accused took her to a deserted place, where he raped her and fled the spot leaving the victim bleeding, they added.

Her parents rushed her to hospital after they found her crying. The police said that the victim’s condition is stable.

According to her family members, the accused originally belongs to West Bengal and his parents also work as labourers in Panipat.

Panipat superintendent of police Shashank Kumar Sawan said they have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act and 376 of the Indian Penal Code.

He said the accused has been identified, who, along with his family members, is at large. Four teams have been formed to investigate the case, the SP said.
