A 45-year-old jeweller allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Sector 4 on Thursday afternoon. According to information shared by the Sector 5 police station, the man was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside the house.

Police have shifted the body to the mortuary of the civil hospital in Sector 6. The post-mortem examination will be conducted on Friday.
Police said no formal complaint has been received from the family so far, and the matter is being investigated from all angles.
According to available information, the deceased had submitted a complaint to the police on May 26, alleging threats and harassment by a few individuals. The complaint was marked to the SHO of Sector 5 police station.
