Chautala, who arrived in Karnal to pay condolences on the death of former nominated councillor and district JJP president Amandeep Singh Chawla, targeted the state government over the law and order situation and the sanitation workers’ strike.

When asked about the disrupted social harmony after a murder followed by two deaths in a police encounter, the JJP leader said,”Three men were killed in this. To prove a death during a gang war wrong, two others were killed in a police encounter. We should ask the police about the mistake they made during the encounter, even if they were accused of murder. This is an act of extreme police brutality when two accused persons in police custody are killed in an encounter.”

“We saw in Hansi how elderly people were lathicharged and the local SP was pelting stones. Why was the SP not booked or an officer trying to snatch an AK-47 to train guns on the protestors?” he said.

“At the same time, a man was shot dead in Hisar outside the court. Today the court complex has become the safest place for criminals to carry out shootouts and despite increasing cases outside these places, the police have failed to secure them,” he told the reporters.

Chautala also slammed the government over the strike of sanitation workers in the state, which entered its 16th day on Friday.

He said that sanitation workers are sitting on dharna across the state and there are heaps of garbage in what was called CM City for the last 12 years and there is no corner where garbage is not visible.
