A dispute over parking in a Kharar led to an alleged assault on an Indian Air Force officer and his wife, police said on Saturday.

According to the complaint, the incident took place on February 23 between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm. The complainant, Krishna, stated that she and her husband who is serving in the Indian Air Force returned home around 6.15 pm and saw two neighbours arguing over parking.
She alleged that another neighbour arrived on a scooter and began abusing them. When they objected, he allegedly slapped her and touched her inappropriately. She further alleged that when her husband intervened, the accused struck him in the left eye with a key. Soon after, four others joined and allegedly pulled her hair and tore her clothes.
The couple approached the police and underwent a medical examination at Kharar civil hospital. Medical reports recorded an eye injury to her husband and injuries to the complainant. A case has been registered under Sections 115(2), 351(2), 126(2), and 190 of the BNS.
